Thinking of taking up Fencing?

Fencing is one of the fastest growing sports in the country, and one of a handful of sports that have featured in all of the modern Olympic games.

If you would like to be part of this, then contact your nearest club. (Details are available by clicking on the Clubs link on our homepage.)

Many have websites, and some run dedicated beginners courses. For those that don't, most coaches prefer it if you make contact first, rather than just turn up on the night. The more popular clubs may have waiting lists, particularly for junior applicants.
However, if you would just like to turn up to watch, clubs, coaches and fencers will make you welcome.

Almost all clubs have equipment which they will loan to beginners, although members are expected to provide their own equipment once they finish the beginners course.

Please don't be tempted to allow children to fence without proper equipment and skilled supervision. Within a well run club, fencing is one of the safest of sports, but without the right equipment and proper coaching, there are significant risks.
